Johan first connected with Texas A&M through Kate Holzmann, who at the time was the banquet officer for the Texas A&M chapter of the Texas Trophy Hunters Association. Looking to support the chapter’s annual fundraiser for Texas Hunt for the Cure—a nonprofit that provides hunting and fishing trips for children and young adults facing life-threatening or life-altering conditions—Johan contributed a South African hunt for the auction. That donation marked the start of a shared commitment to giving back through the outdoors.

Since then, Kate has used her marketing analytics and consulting degree, along with a minor in agricultural economics, to help expand Hook and Bullet Adventures’ reach in the U.S. Having grown up in the TexAgs community—thanks to her father, Texas A&M Class of ’89—Kate helped bring Hook and Bullet on board as the official South African hunting outfitter for TexAgs. The partnership offers special-rate hunting packages for Aggies, which can be booked by reaching out to Kate directly.
